Hi, I'm Laura! I'm an attorney working in the legislative area of a health insurance company in my hometown of Chicago, Illinois. My husband and I live on the north side and work in the Loop, so we are fortunate to see the best (and worst) of both worlds.
I've been saving magazine/photo outfit inspirations and following blogs for ages, so I finally started my own blog in 2012. I started this blog as a creative outlet away from my less-than-style-inspired work life - many of my posts focus on how to make workwear more exciting. Just like this blog, my style is a work in progress and I'm having so much fun learning and growing along the way. Twelve by Six comes from the initials of my name - my initials, LF, are numeric numbers 12 and 6 in the alphabet.
I post mainly about my daily outfits and clothing inspirations, but I also love home decor, design, photography, cooking, baking, and running, so I occasionally post about those topics too. Thanks so much for stopping by, and feel free to leave me a note introducing yourself! :)
The way you came up with your blog name was so creative!! Love that you're spicing up work-wear. I struggle with the same thing working in an attorney's office- everyone always looks so bland, so it is nice to bring a little life to the party. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Erin! How exciting that you just moved to Chicago - did you move for work/school or just for fun? I use a Nikon d3100, and I have a few lenses but usually use the 35mm f/1.8 lens with it, which I really like for portrait shots. When I started the blog though, I was using a Nikon point and shoot (which is what I already had around) or my iphone :)
