Ohai

So...  hey there.  I'll skip the "it's been so busy, blah blah blah" and just get into a dang outfit picture.  I have been taking them occasionally at home, just not following through on the whole "posting them" part, which is silly, because that's kind of the point of taking them, no?

Anyway, I wore this at work last week and received many compliments throughout the day.  Score 1 (or possibly much higher) for the combination of animal prints and bold colors.

I'm Wearing
Talbots cheetah blouse (old)
"J. Crew" bubble necklace (via Ebay)
The Limited cobalt pencil skirt
Jessica Simpson red suede pumps (via Marshalls)

I really liked this outfit, especially since it was so randomly nice out that day (like 50s!) that I was able to wear a pencil skirt with no tights.  I know, crazy.  I was also happy to rock the bubble necklace again - it's been awhile since I pulled that one out!  So tell me what's been going on in your life this week - are you in a mid-winter slump like I am?  Or are you still enjoying cozy sweaters and layering up?  If you are, please motivate me!  All I can think about since my weekend in Florida is flip flops, tank tops, and sunglasses.

  1. Lovely. The Leopard and cobalt combo is always a winner. Yes mid winter slump. This has been the coldest week for me and I've been bundling up a lot

    1. Thanks! Ugh I feel your pain - it's been so cold here too, so unmotivating!

  2. This is a great look! The weather here is varying between 40-70 degrees.. I'm not sure if that qualifies as a mid-winter slump, but it does keep things weird!

  3. Wow I love this...no wonder you got so much compliments!! The red shoes give it that extra "pop" for sure and love the bubble with it!

Yeah, I've been attempting to only allow myself to wear black once a week to the office...so far so good! The layering thing is hard for me, I just grab a cardigan which is nice but not ALL the time.

SUPER jealous of your pics of FL! Glad you are back :)

    1. Thanks Tracy! That's a great plan to limit black to once a week, I like that idea. And I totally do the same thing - easy cardi layering, but then I feel like I'm wearing the same thing over and over, haha.

  4. Yay you're back! I love that you went with the contrasting red for the shoes instead of keeping it matchy. Super cute! Great reminder to wear a pencil skirt on the warmer days, too. I've been so afraid of naked legs lately but it has started to warm up!

  5. I love this outfit and am so jealous you had some "no tights" weather! It's been a little bit nicer here, but still cold enough in the mornings and evenings that I can't do bare legs. I am totally in a mid-winter clothing funk, but I am just making unwise choices to keep things interesting. Like today, I am wearing peep-toe shoes, even though it's cold and foggy out.

  6. I love the cobalt and leopard! I'm pretty stumped about how to wear my leopard shirt but now...I need a cobalt skirt or pant. I'm glad to see your face again, I was worried! :)

    1. Thanks Fran! :) I think any bright color would be great with your leopard shirt - like how about your red blazer? So many options!
