These loafers look cool, and I'm glad to have something from my fall wishlist, but they tore.my.feet.up. I returned the burgundy pair I bought (and the gold boat shoes) on principle alone - I cannot stand flats (flats! of all things!) that hurt my feet. No bueno. I'm keeping these since I wore them, but hopefully I'll be supplementing with a comfier pair soon.
My face isn't this grainy in real life, I swear. Also - notice how the triangle on this necklace is popped up on the right? Yeah, it will not stay down at all. Not a huge fan of the quality here.
I had a Friday night party to attend and not a lot of time to make it out the door (literally less than 1/2 hour), so I quickly changed into something slightly dressier for the evening's activities.
My fake, "I'm sick of taking so many pictures because they're all turning out blurry" face. Sorry J.
So blurry, but shows the jeans color pretty well.
I'm Wearing
Black cami - Gap
Black cardigan - Gap
Burgundy skinnies - Mossimo via Target
Moto jacket - Express (in butterscotch)
Leopard loafers - Mossimo via Target
Black booties - Steve Madden, old
Ivory scarf - old, don't remember
Necklace - Bellum and Rogue (wouldn't recommend, not great quality)
Michael Kors gold watch
"J. Crew" sparkly bracelet via Ebay
J. Crew black bangle
I typically don't mind going straight from work to whatever after-work event I have going on; usually my standard office wear is fine for happy hour or dinner with the girls. Fridays, on the other hand, are a different story. I was heading to a friend's birthday at a downtown(ish) bar, so I didn't want to roll up in the exact same thing I'd been wearing since 7 am. I swapped the leopard flats for black heeled booties, added a camel moto jacket, and lost the scarf (mostly... it was cold!) so the necklace could stand out, and in less than 5 minutes I had a completely different look that was appropriate for the party. I think even my J could agree that this was one of my fastest "going out" looks ever. What's your best tip for changing from work-weary to party-ready on Friday night?
I'll be doing a similar presto-change-o later this week - I have some dinner/happy hour plans lined up to celebrate my birthday on Friday! :)
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!

You look great. I have those same skinnies. Wore on the blog recently.
ReplyDeleteI go from work to another event regularly and I usually just change my shoes or one other item of clothing

Thank you BeautyStyleGrowth - the skinnies are pretty decent for being less than $30, right? :)

DeleteI am obsessed with that jacket and those booties!!! What a great day-to-night transition!! It really can be one of the hardest things to do well, but you totally pulled it off!!
ReplyDeleteAnd...a birthday! So exciting! Lots of fun things planned?!?!
Bri @ Work Clothes, I Suppose
Thanks so much Bri!!! The booties are super old (got them at DSW a few winters ago I think), but I still love them. And I would highly recommend the jacket, it's so comfy and looks like real leather! Yep we have a few things planned for this weekend - doing some bowling, definitely some beer-drinking, probably some apple-picking at a farm outside the city. The hubby has a surprise planned for tonight that I'm really excited about too! I can't wait, and I'm super inspired to bring my camera and actually get some good pics during the daylight hours :)
DeleteLove your necklace and that jacket, so pretty!

DeleteMy Target shoes have been fine!! I guess I don't walk as much as you, only around the office, the about 2 blocks to and from my parking garage. Sucks, I can't STAND it when I get those painful blisters (especially with your running!). BUT I did learn an excellent trick...buy the liquid Band-aid stuff at like CVS and paint that onto the shoes before you wear them. It works very well and doesn't effect the shoes (that I can see...)!
ReplyDeleteAw I'm glad your shoes have been good. I think I just have no tolerance for the breaking in process, haha. But I LOVE that idea of the liquid bandaid stuff, I am definitely going to try it! Genius, thanks Tracy! :)
DeleteI have on those target flats right now and think they are ok in he comfort department, but kind of stiff. I love how you transitioned the outfit with that great necklace and booties!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely stiff, I think that's why they were rubbing so awfully on the sides of my feet. Hopefully next time will be better though. And thank you! :)
