September Budget & Buys

I'll just go ahead and admit that I definitely went over budget for September.  How can I be hounded by rules and limitations when I'm in New York City???  I still tried to focus on quality things that were on my wish list or missing from my closet

Here's what I got last month.

Elie Tahari black dress (via Bluefly) - $62 (Living Social deal)
Banana Republic striped dress - $63 (coupon code + BR Card reward)
Uniqlo teal corduroys - $30 (had to buy at least 1 thing here since they don't sell online!)

Ray-Ban gold aviators (via Bluefly)- $62 (Living Social deal)
Bellum & Rogue black/gold necklace (via Facebook deal) - $10
Target/Mossimo burgundy loafers - $20 (still considering, not sure if I'm going to keep both pairs)
Target/Merona gold boat shoes - $8 (going back and forth on these... think I might return)

Also purchased but not pictured:
C. Wonder striped top - $20 (seen here)
Red studded bracelet (NYC) - $15 (I'll show it in an outfit soon!)
Black/gold clover necklace (NYC) $20 (I'll show it in an outfit soon!)

Which amounts to a grand total of...
 $410.
Eep.  If I return one pair of loafers, I'm down to $390 though.  And again - I was in NYC, I couldn't help it!

Sadly, this doesn't even include the workout gear I purchased (hey, I needed new running shoes... and 2 tops and capris from Lululemon!) and a few other things I bought but returned (including the white button down from Gap in the last wishlist post, which I didn't care for because of the tight fit in the shoulders and that it was see through).  Anyway, there were a few things in here I certainly didn't need this month (Ray-Bans, I'm looking at you), but the deals were so good and the items were on my list for awhile, so I decided to go ahead and splurge.  You'll also notice that I fulfilled a few of my wants from Wish List Part 1, including an animal sweater (how badass is that tiger, seriously?), and loafers (went crazy with two pairs, but I think I'm going to only keep one so I can hopefully snag a pair of studded ones later this fall).  What do you guys think, should I keep the leopard or the red?  I already have a pair of leopard flats, so I'm leaning toward burgundy...

  5. The ray bans are such a steal! They have been on my wishlist for a while too but I keep coming across 5 dollar pairs so I talk myself into buying the cheap pair and holding out for a good deal for the ray bans.. sad I missed the living social deal!

    1. I've been doing the same thing forever too - getting the cheap pairs and then wishing I just bought the good ones. I knew immediately I was getting them when I saw the Living Social deal. Although I think I made it sound confusing - the living social thing was for BlueFly, and I just chose to purchase these (it was like $150 credit for $75, and I had a $10 credit already, so it ended up costing me $65, so I used the credit 1/2 for these and then 1/2 for the black Elie Tahari dress and paid a little extra). Not that it matters I guess, but I'm sure they'll do another BlueFly deal sometime soon! :)

  6. I'm partial to the lepard loafers since...I have them as well :) But I do love the maroon ones and think I would take one pair back as well.

The sweater is cute/bad-ass, excellent choice!

    Welcome back!! We missed you!

    1. The leopard ones are definitely really cute... I just feel like if I only keep one, it should be different enough to justify them, and since I already have leopard flats... I don't know, making decisions is hard, haha! Awww, thanks - I missed you too! :)
