Gone Away

First of all, sorry for being totally MIA yesterday.  I took the day off of work, so it still felt like the weekend for me, which meant I wasn't really doing anything on the internet.  I promise I'll talk about my bday weekend, bday swag (fyi - birthday fairy came through, I have an amazing navy blazer!!!). and hopefully have some deep thoughts about turning 30 in tomorrow's post.

So... I did it.  It's not as short as some of the inspiration pics I showed, but my hair is definitely a lot shorter than it was.  Yesterday I liked it okay, today I'm not sure.  I don't mind the length as much as I mind the freshness of the layers - I dislike how shaggy and feathered they look, but usually they grow in alright in a week or so.  I got about 4 inches off, so if my hair grows about 1/2" per month, it should be back to where it was... never.  Actually 8 months, which is June next year.  But I hope think mine grows a bit faster than that...  I also got the color done a bit darker for the winter (and so I can be lazy about letting my natural color grow in...), which I think I like.  It's pretty much my natural color, so at least it will be easy.

Anyway, here's a little outfit action along with a few silly looking poses to try and show my hair.

I'm Wearing
Nordstrom charm necklace (old)
Banana Republic Factory heathered gray blazer
Ray Ban aviators (via BlueFly)
Jessica Simpson red suede pumps (via Marshall's, really old)

I wore this last week at work and felt very classic/chic with the stripes, red pumps, and trench.  (I had to re-wear it this morning to get pics since it was too dark last week when I got home, which is why I have new hair + old outfit).  Today I'm actually working from home in my pjs, so it felt sort of silly to get dressed up in an outfit I already wore, then change back into my U of I sweatpants.  Which totally reminds me that I also never really shared a lot of my pics from New York, during which we actually stopped by a fashion show since we happened to be there during fashion week...  I will definitely try to get some of those into tomorrow's post!  I have a ton of catching up to do at work and home, so I'm hoping to start off productive and stay that way throughout the day, and blogging is for sure on the to do list!  What's on your agenda, and how was your weekend?

Thank you so much Fran!!! :) It definitely feels healthy, which makes me like it more - I'm going to actually try and keep up with trims so it stays healthy at the bottom (usually so lazy about that...) And I promise I'm posting pics of the blazer tomorrow! 1. Thanks so much Jess! Yep, it's definitely darker and straight too - I usually wear it wavy (natural), but this is the salon blow out, so I thought I'd try to ride it out for a few days bc who knows when the next time I'll blow dry my hair will be, haha ;)
