Fall Wishlist Part 2

Since I've been working on buying less but better quality, I've putting together a wish list of the top items I'd really like to add to my wardrobe this fall instead of impulse buying and wasting my budget.  Part 1 was here, and today I have four more items to add to the list!  Stay tuned for part 3!

My Fall Wishlist

5.  Riding boots

Piperlime
DSW
Nordstrom
Frye

I have a black pair from last year and a light tan pair from the year before, so this year I really want to add a dark brown/cognac flat pair of serious riding boots to my wardrobe.  Do you have a pair or brand that you really love?  I like all of these, but I'm so hesitant to take the plunge on any of them because of the prices - I don't mind paying for something great, but I'm nervous that I won't like them!

6.  My perfect jeans
(part of my 30 things to do before 30!)

Hudson via Piperlime
7 For All Mankind via Nordstrom

I don't even know where to start with this one...  Maybe I'll just go to Nordstrom one weekend and grab a million pairs to try on.  What's your favorite brand/fit of jeans?  I've been wearing American Eagle forever and I have a one or two pairs from Gap and Target sprinkled in (plus a new gray pair from Diesel), but I'm definitely not well-versed in designer denim, so I'm wary of the crazy prices!

7.  White button-down top

Gap
Target
Tinley Road bow blouse via Piperlime
Tinley Road silk blouse via Piperlime

This is one of those things that I've always had, but I've never had a great one that I really love and want to wear, you know?  It's such a classic that I've decided I want to invest in something a little nicer than the old, baggy versions I still have from right after college.  I can't decide if I want something classic and structured or a little more fun with the bow - what do you think?

8.  Colorful blazer

Piperlime
Target
Gap
Nordstrom

I didn't intend to have mostly red options on the list, but these were the ones I kept being attracted to - I guess I really want a red blazer!  I also really love that green one from Piperlime though, and there's a pretty wine color in that version too.  I never ended up getting a colorful blazer throughout the spring and summer (I tried a yellow one but the fit/fabric was awful so I had to return it, sadly), so hopefully I can get my fill of something more colorful this fall!

What's on your wish list?  Do you have any tips or recommendations on jeans or riding boots - I'd love to hear what you love and hate about certain brands and styles!

  6. Laura - You're in Chicago area right? You should go to your nearest Hot Mama store and have them help you find the perfect pair of designer jeans! I work at a Hot Mama in MN and I must say we are very well versed in designer denim. We get trianing on it! My favorite brand is Hudson (I am wearing a pair today)! I think they would fit with your body type as well! If you go to Hot Mama, let me know how it goes! If you want more denim advice please feel free to ask me!

  7. I'm still looking for that perfect brown riding boot so I'll keep you updated.

for jeans, I wear a pair of Joe's Jeans that I love to death. I've had them for 2 years now and they still fit as great as they did from the beginning. Yes, $140+ is crazy for jeans, but for jeans you'll love and wear over and over and over again? worth it.

    2. Awesome, yes please let me know if you find awesome riding boots (and also yes please to jean shopping day in Chicago!) Good to know about Joe's Jeans, I wasn't sure if people liked them as much bc it seems like I always year about 7FAM, Paige, Hudson, etc. more than those, but I always wondered about them. If I found a pair that were super amazing and I would wear a ton, I think I could handle the cost, but I definitely want to make sure it's the right pair, you know?

  8. I LOVE my Hudson jeans for the fit but the length isn't long enough for me to wear heels with :( But the fit is well worth it, they are excellent!

I invested in FYE riding boots like these last year: http://www.zappos.com/frye-melissa-button-chocolate-vintage-leather but waited until the end of the season and got them for a little under $200!! Still and investment for sure, but a little less painful for me, lol. They are excellent, but with my long legs I wish they were just a couple inches taller.

    1. Awesome Tracy, thanks for those recommendations/reviews! I'm tall-ish too, so I also try to be mindful of the length of my jeans/boot shaft - it's definitely a process to find the "right" pair of each! :)
