Pencil Pusher

Let's just get right into it today, shall we?  Wednesdays are no day for messing around.

What I'm Wearing
Banana Republic blue silk top - so old, definitely from college (similar)
J. Crew Factory pink belt - $15 (similar)
Talbots ivory lace skirt - $35 (similar)
H&M rose ring - $5ish (similar)
Gucci brown leather strap watch - left to me by my late grandmother - priceless
Gold & coral cuff - thrifted, $5

Pencil skirts are a huge wardrobe staple for me (did you see my monthly buys roundup for July??), so I was really excited when I found this lovely for only $35 a few months back.  I didn't want  it to look to romantic or wedding-y for work, so I paired it with a rich navy top and the leopard bow flats I also picked up last month instead of a more feminine color and pumps.  What do you think - how else would you wear a lace pencil skirt at work?

And of course I'm linking up for WIWW over at Pleated Poppy and can't wait to have some free time to night to check out all the other great submissions!

  4. Those shoes are all sorts of fantastic! I just went back and read your running post and I am so inspired. I just started running again after 10 years of the bike and gym and it is just great to hear that it is about just getting out and doing it, not just the time! Thanks!

    3. And aww, thank you :) It really is a wonderful reminder of her! I was able to keep a few things of hers when she passed away last year, including this watch and a few other beautiful pieces of jewelry. I also received her jewelry box/stand, which I love and really want to refinish one day (maybe when I get that sander and circular saw :)
