Thankfully I'm still off because I took vacation time today and tomorrow (woo hoo!), but last week I had to wear suits several times because of work meetings. I often feel really boring in a full-on suit, but I've been trying to make them a little more exciting when I do have to wear them. Here, I went for some slightly rocker-ish details with a studded tank and layered chain necklace, and I threw in a colorful watch to give it a little bit of color other than black and gray.
I'm Wearing
Tommy Hilfiger (via Macy's) black blazer - gift
Hive & Honey (via Piperlime) embellished tank top - $10 (old)
Fossil Teal "Stella" watch - gift (similar)
Talbots Skyla almond-toe pumps (exact)
What do you think, did I make this suit a little bit more fun? How would you jazz up a work outfit when you have to wear something business professional rather than business casual?

Love the polka dot top, such a classy look! :)

Love this look! But what happened to the 5th of July?! Did you get to skip it in Chicago?! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Yi-chia! :)
ReplyDeleteAhahahaha, omg!!! Yep, we just decided to skip right to Friday here in the midwest ;) This is what happens when I'm on vacation, I can't even tell one day from the next! You'd think that the day after the 4th of July would be easy to remember!
ReplyDeletehaha I totally know the feeling! Just had to call you out though :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful to have a casual dress code at work, but I love this look! I've used belts (my favorite one is a bright, royal blue!) and jewelry to jazz up an outfit.

I love it! The combo of the studded tank and the suit is fun and shows your personality without being too much! Great idea! I will have to try it!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm glad you did - I would have been a whole day off for who knows how long! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! I think belts are a fantastic way to add something extra to an outfit (royal blue sounds gorgeous!), and definitely jewelry!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lisa! :)
