I previously posted about my love for aqua here and I've been using my amazing anniversary gift on a daily basis, but of course I'm always happy to incorporate more of this beloved color in my daily clothing choices. Instead of cheating by just posting more pics of my favorite purse, I pulled out a top I've been meaning to wear for ages.
I wore this out to dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant last weekend - I know, we cannot get over Cabo. I was still inspired by the sea and sand of the beautiful beaches there, so I paired this sparkly aqua tank with seashell earrings, a sandy-colored clutch and my naturally wavy hair texture. I was hoping it was more "straight from the salty and beautiful sea mermaid" than "I brushed my hair with a dinglehopper I got from an annoying but well-meaning seagull," but I'll let you be the judge of that.
I'm Wearing
J. Crew Factory aqua sequined tank - $30 (similar, similar, similar in other colors)
Seashell disc earrings - so old I can't even remember where they're from (similar)
Guess silver watch - gift
Gap jeans - $35
Gap nude snakeskin clutch - $15 (similar)
Silver cage wedges (via DSW) - old (similar)
on toes: China Glaze Thataway
There's not much accessorizing or layering going on in this look, which is a little strange for me since I usually add on at least a few things to make my work looks more interesting. "Going out" looks tend to be a lot simpler though because (a) the weather outside is far too hot and muggy for layering, and (b) when you can wear sequins, silver wedges, and statement earrings, not much else is required to make it interesting! I need to start posting more pics of outfits I wear outside of work. I'll get right on that, as soon as I spend more than a few hours per weekend in anything but pajamas.
What's your favorite way to wear aqua (aside from every possible way, obviously)?

Love this! I'd hang onto every bit of vacation that you can. :) Your hair looks great by the way. I love the natural/wavy look! Jewelry is my absolute favorite way to wear this color, although I'd describe all mine as teal rather than aqua. I'll have to look for some pieces in lighter shades though!

Thanks Jess! :) I love teal too - I really think they're variations of the same color, so I'm a fan of all bluish-green and greenish-blues! I would love to see your collection of teal jewelry!!!
Deletethe muted aqua is really pretty and the delicate earrings match perfectly. This is a cute outfit for a dinner date :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! That's what I was thinking - casual yet dressy enough for a dinner date with the hubby! :)
DeleteThat top is GREAT! I love the combination of the sequins and the mint color -- it gives it more of a light sheen than an overt shine. I'm also loving those capiz shell earrings, very beachy :).

Thanks Catalina! I loved the top too - it was definitely one of those "I must own this even if I have to pay full price" type items for me :)
