Bloggers Do It Better: Mint + Coral

Well, my friends, it is officially the first day of summer!  And it certainly feels like it around here - high of 92 today!  How's the weather in your neck of the woods (in my best Al Roker voice)?  Today I'm linking up with BDIB over at Pretty Shiny Sparkly, and I'm so excited that the challenge is coral + mint - how perfect is that for the start of summer?  Just like a delicious and juicy watermelon!

And speaking of linking up, my aqua outfit from earlier this week is over on Small Town, Big Wardrobe today - head over there to check it out and see some other cute aqua outfits!

It was too bright to smile for most of these (my eyes looked fully closed when I tried), but I didn't want to look like a complete sourpuss so I threw in this one - happy summer!

yeah, I cut off my foot.  oops.

I'm wearing
Worthington (via JC Penny) utility blouse in coral - $16 (exact, but coral is out of stocksimilar)
Banana Republic Factory gold & gray necklace - $13 (similar style)
Michael Kors watch -gift
The Limited gold & green ring - $8, old (similar)
J. Crew Factory camel patent belt - $14 (similar)
J. Crew Cafe Capri in natural - $35 (similar style)
Seychelles Mother of Pearl mint sandals (exactexact style in nude and cheaper!)
Toenails: Zoya Kelly

How weird that the actual items I'm wearing have the names "coral" and "mint" in their color names, usually they're something generic like "green."  I find coral and mint to be very hard to pin down, color-name-wise.  They're also "peachy pink," "peach," "reddish orange," and so on, or "aqua," "teal," or "turquoise."  Honestly, they're all fabulous, so what's the difference, really?

What's your favorite way to wear shades of pinkish-peachy-orange and sort-of-pastel-and-slightly-blue-tinged-green (or kind-of-bright-slightly-green-tinged-blue)?  But more importantly, how are you celebrating the first day of summer???

  5. LOVING your shoes! Those are gorgeous. And I especially like that we both talked about how difficult coral is to nail down in our BDIB posts today! I think I like your approach and if it's in the same ballpark, I'm good! LOL!

    1. Thanks so much Marion! Haha I know, it seems like a lot of people had some confused feelings about what qualifies as mint or coral - glad we're not alone! :)
