Blazin' Hot

And the winner for the lamest blog post title is...

Moving right along, today I'm linking up with Marionberry Style for the July Challenge - colorful blazers!  Blazers are one of my absolute top wardrobe necessities, so I can't wait to see the other submissions - I'm sure I'll be tempted to buy the entire rainbow spectrum of blazers in a matter of minutes!  Anyway, I didn't think white qualified as a colorful blazer, sadly, so even though I'm seriously into them, I pulled out my one and only actual bright colored blazer.  Last time I wore this blazer, it was a work-friendly look (see it here), so I wanted to try something a little more fun and casual this time.

I'm Wearing
Thrifted cobalt blazer - $4 (similar)
Tommy Hilfiger (via Macy's) ivory/navy polka dot top - $24 (similar and so cute with pink trim!
similar and totally adorable tie-neck blouse, ughh now I want both of these!)
J. Crew Factory pink belt - $12 (similar, similarhow cute is this?)
Michael Kors rose gold watch - gift
Delia's emerald green skinnies - $13 (same jeans in slightly different color - mine are discontinued)
Seychelles Gypsy sandals - $60ish (old)

This look is actually inspired by a recent J. Crew catalog outfit, which, if you're as big of an addict as I am (and let's be real, I know you are), you already know which one I'm talking about.  Which is good, because my scanner is broken (yes, I keep tear-outs of mags and catalogs and have for years - I have a whole binder full of old inspiration photos, like an old-school Pinterest!) and I couldn't find a picture of it on the interwebz to show you guys.  And believe me, I looked; I looked very, very carefully through all of J. Crew's website!  (Don't worry, I didn't break my shopping ban, I was just torturing myself).  The inspiration photo didn't extend to the shoes, so I went with one of my favorite pairs of neutral sandals (see how I wore them for work here).  I really wish these were still available so I could recommend them to people (and buy 7 backup pairs) - they are ridiculously comfortable and I just seriously love them.

Wow, I used a lot of parentheses in that paragraph.  Did you know that they're my favorite form of punctuation?  They really are.  What's your favorite punctuation?  (One final parenthetical for good measure: this is why I shouldn't blog at the end of the day when I'm loopy and need to be in bed!)

  19. Thanks so much Bri!!! I hate how school colors ruin some pairings for life - my schools were blue and orange and it's also the Chicago Bears (big football fans here), so sometimes I have trouble with that one!

  20. Ahhh! Don't you just love it when you thrift a blazer that doesn't need any tailoring. It looks great with the mix of colors and dots. Annnnndddd....I too have a binder full of inspirational looks from magazines. So glad I'm not the only one still doing that!

  21. Thank you so much MissRockwell! Oh my gosh that's awesome that you have a binder too - my ultimate dream is to have a magazine binder party and share the looks I've saved with other people who do it too! :) I've actually started scanning and saving them in paperless versions to reduce paper/clutter/waste, but I'm still hanging onto the old ones I've had forever!
