Wishlist Wednesday: Bright Wellies

Wellies are pretty much a staple across the country - anywhere it rains, really.  I've had a pair of navy Tretorn rubber boots that I scored for $20 and I love them, but I was hankering for a bright pair to fit in with this season's colorful inspirations.  I was lucky to find this bright pink pair of Hunters on sale at Nordstrom earlier this season for a mere $62, so I was really excited to bust them out last time it rained.  Turquoise will be my next pair without a doubt, but I'm enjoying these bright pinkies in the meantime.

Since I obviously don't wear them all day (although I just saw a post on Corporette where some commenters insisted that people actually do wear wellies all day in the office), I thought I'd also take some pics of the rest of the outfit I wore.  And, since this is a Wishlist Wednesday but my item is a little less versatile, I decided to incorporate previous Wishlist Wednesday items for this outfit too: polka dots and pleated skirts!

I'm Wearing
Hunter Original Tall High Gloss Fuchsia rain boots - $62 (exact, still a few sizes left on sale!)
Banana Republic classic trench - gift (exact)
Tommy Hilfiger polka dot top - $24
H&M navy pleated skirt - $10
Chinese Laundry belt (via Beyond the Rack) - $10
Adrienne Vittadini "Kaylee" pumps - $25 (but I actually paid $2 - best deal of all time, AND these are easily the most comfortable pumps I own) (exact)
Michael Kors gold watch - gift (exact)
Nordstrom brown faux leather wrap bracelet - old
J. Crew green chain link necklace (worn as bracelet) - $11
Hive & Honey (via Piperlime) gold and green bangle set - old

How about you - do you wear wellies in rainy weather?  Do you like to wear neutrals or colorful boots?  I like having both options - sometimes with a bright outfit, it's nice to have a neutral pair to tone it down, but other times the bright boots really make a rainy day more fun!

On a last, random note - I am totally an idiot when it comes to html (evidence: I actually typed that "htlm" the first time...) and blog layouts/customizing, but I really want to do some fun things (or at least just have a consistent template).  If anyone can recommend a resource for learning this stuff at a beginner's level, I would really appreciate it!  I've googled a lot, but I'm hoping for something more comprehensive and progressive instead of wading through stuff, a lot of which is way above my level.  Thanks!

  1. I know I just commented on your post from yesterday, but this skirt looks like it would be perfect to pack up for your bike rides to work this week! :)

    1. You're totally right - skirts are where it's at for biking! This one would be great because it's a thicker fabric too, so I doubt it would get wrinkly when I no doubt just stuff it in my bag. :) The thing that's still challenging me is preparing accessories/extras for work outfits to bring with me - usually I just stack on some stuff and go, but planning ahead is taking a lot of extra thought (plus extra organization so they don't get tangled up/scratched)!
